Day 4 (Tuesday, 7/22/2003) Most of the morning and early afternoon of Day 4 was spent on a 20-mile mountain bike excursion through the Bridger-Teton National Forest northwest of Jackson. A guide from Teton Mountain Bike Tours took us on their "Flagstaff Tour", which follows both gravel forest service roads and also some bumpy singletracks through mostly rolling terrain with few technical elements and more downhill than up. Overall, it was an easy-moderate ride, but I'd still rate it as one of the best rides I've ever done. It had some nice long uphills, so I got a good workout, but there were some nice long downs as well, and those tended not to be too treacherous. The route afforded us several spectacular views of the Cathedral Group and Mount Moran peeking above the landscape to the west. One of the highlights of the tour was our lunch stop at Lily Lake, the subject of a famous Ansel Adams photograph.
