Distance:  26.3 Miles
Elevation Change:  10,980'-9200' (1600' ascent, 3380' descent)
Weather:  An impressive hail/thunder/lightning storm built up over the Sneffels Range to the south around lunchtime and overtook us in the middle of Howard Flats (absolutely the worst place to be during a lightning storm-- nothing but open range for miles.)  We spent about 30 minutes cowering in a ditch at the intersection of County Roads 59Z and 60Z.  The roads were very muddy the rest of the afternoon, so it was slow going.
