Aoudad or Barbary Sheep (Ammotragus levia.) Natives of Africa, Barbary sheep are really more closely related to goats than sheep. They can grow to 140 lbs when mature and are known for their surefootedness on steep terrain. Barbary sheep live up to 20 years in captivity and can bear one "kid" after a gestation period of 6 months. Horns are possessed by both sexes and can be as long as 3 feet.
